HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) praised the recently unveiled Grow PA higher education plan, highlighting its detailed and focused approach that he believes was lacking in the governor's proposal earlier this year. Cutler commended the efforts of key figures in developing the plan, stating, "I applaud the work of House Republican Education Chairman Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Fulton), as well as Sen. Ryan Aument (R-Lancaster) and Sen. Scott Martin (R-Lancaster), on developing this detail-oriented and thoughtful approach to higher education reform."

According to Cutler, Grow PA strikes a balance between accountability and accessibility in public higher education. He emphasized the importance of informing Pennsylvanians about the benefits the plan will bring to their families and the higher education landscape in the state. Cutler stated, “Grow PA is a realistic and achievable plan that will open the doors of higher education to more students by making the goal of improvement through meaningful learning more accessible and affordable.”

The plan aims to reform Pennsylvania's higher education system by enhancing access to affordable opportunities, focusing on education in the state's growth sectors, and retaining college graduates within Pennsylvania. Cutler also highlighted the plan's emphasis on ensuring that colleges and universities receiving public support are accountable to taxpayers. He expressed his full support for Grow PA, stating, “When looking at how to reform higher education, the Grow PA plan aligns sound priorities with an outcome-based approach that puts an emphasis on accountability and Pennsylvania’s future. It has my complete support.”
